how we live

We are a full time living on the road family. Our rig, our home is a 21' Okanagan travel trailer towed by our 2000 Dodge Dakota truck. Ok - it's small, I will be the first to admit. But it is a start. We dream of the day that we can upgrade both the truck and the trailer to a full size truck and a 30' trailer with a bedroom at either end with the kitchen, dining and living in the middle with a slide out. Oh dare to dream.

In the mean time - this is our home. The plan - to live 6 months in the USA - mainly boondocking the desert. We love the desert - just something about the air. The other 6 months - read warm to hot months - we will spend in Canada.

Derek and I spent 3 1/2 months from January to April in the USA traveling from Saskatchewan, CAN down to Texas, along to New Mexico, Arizona and then on to California. Well that was it - we loved that trip and have been wanting to get back on the road ever since. You can read about our travels on our Desert Wanderings blog. However, we awaited the arrival of our daughter who was born May 2009. Now 18 months later we are ready - and we figure so is she - to also live a life on the road.

Our rig parked at Picacho State Park just west of Tucson - 2008.
